It's been a sad week for us due to the series of unfortunate events that transpired this week in our country.
Several people died in a motor vehicle accident in Agoo, La Union involving a passenger bus & a jeep. Seven children (including an infant) were among the 20 persons killed in the collision early morning on Christmas Day. Many of them were on their way to Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag to hear mass.
A farming village in Lanao del Norte was buried by a landslide caused by typhoon Vinta. Rescuers are trying to save or retrieve 100 people still missing under the muddy debris.

37 people perished in the New City Commercial Center (NCCC) Mall fire in Davao City. Most of them were call center employees. President Duterte was there to update and console the families of the victim.

As if those tragedies weren't enough, more than 200 people also died due to the onslaught of typhoon Vinta, that hit Mindanao, & Urduja, that hit the Visayas. Over 300 people are still missing. The worst hit was Mindanao. Widespread deep flooding was reported.

I commiserate with the families of those who lost their loved ones in this series of tragedies. There are those who blamed the president for these tragedies, believe it or not, but I'm not even surprised anymore.
