If I titled this post "How the Japanese Multiply" like in some tweets, readers might misconstrue the title to be as referring to how the Japanese generate or increase their population. Well this post in nothing close to a sort of Japanese Kama Sutra. HA HA HA! Not by a long shot. This blog post is about a math trick that the Japanese had invented using dots and lines. It's simple and easy to use.

I think this method is limited to multiplying 2 numbers only.
Also, some people contend that this method did not originate from Japan but from India.
Using high numbers & zeros
So having learned this secret, go forth and MULTIPLY, people.
But if this method doesn't work for you, use a calculator instead.
