The 60th Grammy Awards

I probably watched the first half of this event but I got so bored by it so I watched something else.

For me, the best parts of this year's Grammy Awards telecast were Eminem not being in the show (can't stand that guy), Seinfeld & Sarah Silverman NOT WINNING (HURRAY!), the tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber by BEN PLATT & PATTI LuPONE (singing "Somewhere" & "Don’t Cry for Me Argentina" respectively), Elton John performing his song "Tiny Dancer" (although Miley Cyrus ruined the moment (no wonder Elton left the stage alone & didn't wait up for Miley while exiting the stage (HA HA HA!)) and not having to watch Beyonce or Taylor Swift sing. I'm so tired of them. The worst moments were when the audience BOOED Ed Sheeran (good thing he wasn't there, poor guy), when 4 country superstars (all surviving performers of the Las Vegas' Route 91 Harvest Festival carnage) butchered Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven" (why didn't they just ask Clapton to sing it), Miley singing "Tiny Dancer" with Elton (any other American Idol would have done better), and the Tom Petty tribute by Chris Stapleton & Emmylou Harris (the song that they picked was not even the most popular Tom Petty's song).

I like Bruno Mars but his performance was pretty boring. Why did Sting & U2 perform twice? No other artists were available?

I hope the entertainment industry (movie, TV & music, and perhaps Sports) clean up their act & stop sexually harassing & abusing their own employees (stars, workers, male & female) so we don't have to watch more political speeches in their awards shows. Such awards shows with such speeches end up not looking like awarding ceremonies but a way to shame & punish their colleagues and show their own blackeyes.

I thought this year's Grammy was one of the most ho-hum Grammys I've watched. James Corden didn't much help to save the show. I was so bored that I ended up switching channels. More distressing for the show is the fact that this Grammys slipped over 20% in viewership from last year's event. Maybe next year, they should consider doing their broadcast on FM radio.
