I fell asleep watching the first episode of the TV series "Altered Carbon". It was too slow and too weird for me. I wish "Game of Thrones" and "Into the Badlands" are back. I like action movies & TV shows. It's the reason why I thoroughly enjoyed the movies "The Justice League", "The Commuter" and "Maze Runner: The Death Cure". These movies kept me alert. Nowadays, my fave TV series is "Bull" and it's not even an action TV series. I miss "Grimm" and "Banshee". There is an action-packed blockbuster in the pipeline opening this week and it's one of the most anticipated movies this year -- "The Black Panther". Be there or be square. :)
Last night, Mickey D's. Tonight, Burger King. Need to stop poisoning myself. Noticed how unpalatable Mickey D's burgers, even their Fish Fillets, had become. It's like eating cardboard. BK's Whopper is much better & BIGGER. Their mushroom Swiss burger is OK too but too tiny to fill anyone up.
Both Yellow Cab & Savory lost me as a customer. Yellow Cab removed Calzone and their Hot Wings from their menu. Those are my two favorites at YC. Savory removed their Beef & Broccoli from their menu, which is the only take-out item I order there to-go. Speaking of "menu," it always makes me recoil or cringe whenever I hear people on TV mispronounce the word. There's a Sky Cable commercial in which a guy says "meh-noo," and not "men-you." Another word I get the same reaction to when I hear TV personalities say it is the word "seconds." They say "sec-ons" instead of "sec-ends." TV newscasters or reporters and politicians also mispronounce "organization" a lot. They say "or-GAH-neezation" (stressed on the 2nd syllable), instead of "OR-gah-neezation" (stressed on the first syllable). Not trying to sound bougie --just saying.
I can't sleep and it's almost 8 AM. Don't know the reason why. I have nothing to do with Dengvaxia so why am I not sleepy -- my conscience ain't bothering me. I hope Garin & PNoy slept soundly last night. They say their conscience is clear. We all have to answer to God when we die. A radio host said that they blocked the street where PN0y lives. Mayor Bautista giving preferential treatment to PNoy? Oh, it's so unlike him! Are they scared mothers of Dengvaxia children will suddenly descend upon or mob the home of PN0y? Can you blame them? Hindi tuloy makadaan yung ibang tao daw doon.

I was just reading a news article about the Chief Justice's impeachment hearing at the House of Reps. Chief Justice Sereno was reported to have hired & paid big bucks to an IT consultant (Helen Mascaet) who had no diploma or degree in IT or computer science. Huh? Something fishy here. How did she become an IT consultant then if she has no degree in IT or computer science? "Whom you know", instead of "what you know" practice in government hiring ought to be outlawed. Come to think of it, Chief Justice Sereno has never been a city or municipal judge, not even a clerk of court or court interpreter and yet PNoy appointed her top Supreme Court justice. PNoy plucked her from nowhere. PNoy also appointed Associate Justice Mario Victor Leonen, Associate Justice Francis Jardeleza, and Associate Justice Alberto Caguioa. All of them had no prior experience as judges and some have very obscure legal careers.
Was that how Aquino debased the highest court of the land, by appointing to it the least qualified people but the most willing and ready to do his bidding? Ano 'to, a case of "birds of a feather flock together" thing or a "follow the leader" thing? Why did PNoy appoint them as justices of the highest court of the land without prior experience as judges? Also remember, PNoy also assigned Trillanes to be his BACKDOOR negotiator with China on the issue of our territorial claim of the contested islands on West PHL Sea. Trillanes, who is NOT an expert in international law, an expert in territorial security, an expert in geopolitics, an expert in foreign relations and not even an admiral, is given this big job. He still has not given the public details what he did there or what negotiations with China were agreed upon or approved by PN0y. Abnoy ba talaga si PNoy for appointing all these people with not enough experience for the position they were given? Kung sabagay sabi ng marami, ganun din daw ka-inexperienced si Noynoy nung tumakbo ng pagka-presidente. PNoy's legislative performance paled in comparison with the other presidential candidates who ran against him for presidency and official records of the Senate and House of Representatives show that none of Noynoy Aquino's principally authored bills have been enacted into law. Bills become law because their authors work hard to pass these through committees, defend its merits on the floor, get their colleagues to vote for their bills on 2nd and 3rd readings, and work with their House of Representatives counterparts to reconcile differences in the Senate and House versions. The first and most important job of a legislator is to file bills and pass these into laws. That is their Constitutional task in a Presidential system. That's why they are called "mambabatas". If a legislator couldn't pass a SINGLE LAW, how else could we measure the performance of a legislator? Here's what the venerable Ernesto Mata had to say about Noynoy's lackluster legislative performance in his column in Malaya:
"Many political observers wondered why? He spent 11 years as congressman and senator, but they noted, he did practically nothing in government service. Noynoy has no sterling performance and for this reason, he is accused of being ‘walang alam’ and all he could do was co-author bills for legislation."
People said Sen. Lito Lapid was more qualified to be President than Noynoy because he has, at least, produced one law (RA 9999) that would give tax perks to private law firms that render free legal service to poor clients. Voters elected PN0y, not because of his accomplishments or achievements or that he is the best choice but, because his mother died. I don't even remember PNoy having an advocacy during his stints in Congress and the Senate. There seemed like a domino effect from the election of PNoy to his appointment of Sereno and to CJ's hiring of her IT consultant.
To the yellow horde, don't get bent out of shape when we talk about the Dengvaxia controversy. You tell us we can't talk about it because we are not doctors. OK, fine! Well then kayong mga dilaw shouldn't talk about EJKs because you're not criminologists nor criminal investigators. Fair enough?
What make me switch TV channels? When I see the faces of any of the Kardashians, Piolo Pascual, Kris Aquino, James Reid, Daniel Padilla, Jennifer Aniston, Tyra Banks, Lisa Kudrow, Vice Ganda, Boy Abunda, Jonah Hill, Miley Cyrus, Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman, Karen Davila, Winnie Monsod, Sheldon Cooper, Edwin Lacierda, Sonny Trillanes, Bam Aquino, Kiko Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros, Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Agot Isidro, Anne Curtis, Sarah Geronimo, Judy Ann Santos, Leah Navarro, Leila De Lima, Lucy Liu, Beyoncé, Vhong Navarro, Mariah Carey, Coco Martin, Jobert Sucaldito, Ahwel Paz, Korina Sanchez, Mar Roxas, Franklin Drilon, Fake VP Leni Robredo, PN0y, Janette Garin, Maria Ressa, Raissa Robles, Ogie Alcasid, Cynthia Patag, Bette Midler, Lourd De Veyra, Trillanes and Jim Paredes.
What the hell is wrong with Philippine entertainment industry?! The mainstream movies are a mess. All those crappy soap operas & flicks on GMA 7 & ABS-CBN, and in movies are all unoriginal and brimming with overrated but underwhelming talents that depend mostly on good looks and their tired ability to cry. How many more times do we have to watch soaps & flicks that involve mabait vs maldita, mahirap vs mayamang matapobre, bobo vs matalino, api vs mang-aapi, karibal vs karibal sa babae o boyfriend, sampalan, iyakan, sigawan, CGI'ed fantasya, etc. I swear if I watch any of the local TV shows from the 2 major networks, I'll probably go into a coma. Pati yung mga documentaries ng mga Amerikano, tinatagalog na lang nila. Wala silang sariling original na documentary? Yung mga patawa nila, kahit na yung kay Vice Ganda, di talaga ako matawa. What's the big deal about Vice?
I clicked a link ... I wasn't paying attention at the time ... and it turned out to be a Rappler page. I felt so used ... so dirty ... had to shower.
Someone posted in Reddit that he read somewhere that the average reading comprehension of all Filipinos is that of a grade 4 student. WTF! Ganun ba tayo ka-boob? If we take out Trillanes & Leni Rob from the national average perhaps our average reading comprehension would go up by a few notches? Just thinking.
Yikez! A guest, a senior citizen at that, in MSNBC's Morning Joe got booted out of the show by Mika! I'd like to see a TV host do that in Philippine TV. C'mon now, be the first!
A breaking news article reads "Donald Trump Jr. Attacks Olympian Adam Rippon On Twitter". Like father, like son, eh? Adam Rippon is the first openly gay U.S. Olympic figure skater who helped Team USA win a bronze medal in the figure skating team event in case you didn't know. Last month, he called out U.S. VP Mike Pence’s alleged intolerance toward the LGBTQ community, and blasted the vice president’s decision to lead the U.S. delegation at the opening ceremony. Trump Jr responded to a report in The Hill that said Rippon, didn’t want his experience at the Winter Olympics in South Korea to be defined by his stance against Vice President Mike Pence. To which Trump Jr responded with this:

Still related to Trump, it was revealed that Trump's lawyer paid the hush money of $130,000 to the prostitute that Trump allegedly had a liaison with (ubo ubo ... clear throat). There were 19 women who had accused Trump of sexual misconduct. The lawyer then decided to pay the prostitute instead of the 19. The prostitute already got paid. Ang bait naman ng lawyer ni Trump ... that is if you believe his story.
