HYPOCRISY: Trump & His Immigration Policy

TRUMP opposes & plans to end chain migration. He also campaigned for the White House on a hard-line anti-immigration agenda. In his last State of the Union address, the president called chain migration a threat to Americans’ security and quality of life. Under his plan, he said, only spouses and minor children could be sponsored for legal residency. The parents of first lady Melania Trump have become legal permanent residents of the United States and are close to obtaining their citizenship, according to people familiar with their status. Immigration experts said Viktor & Amalija Knavs (Melania's parents) very likely relied on a family reunification process that Trump has derided as “chain migration”. The Knavses, formerly of Slovenia, are living in the US on green cards. Permanent residents typically have to hold green cards for five years before they can apply for U.S. citizenship. There are only 2 substantive ways Trump’s in-laws could gain green cards: through sponsorship by their daughter or an employer. The latter is unlikely, he said, as it would require evidence that there were no Americans who could do the job for which they were hired. Also, the Knavses are reportedly retired already. Viktor Knavs is 73 now & Amalija Knavs is 71. The first lady’s sponsorship of her parents appears to be the only reasonable way they would have obtained green cards because the process currently gives preferential treatment to parents of U.S. citizens.

There are now questions about Melania's immigration history also. She first came to the US from Slovenia in 1996 for modeling work, first on a visitor’s visa and then a work permit. In 2000, Melania sponsored herself for a green card based on her “extraordinary ability” as a model. However, the Associated Press reported in 2016 that Trump was paid for 10 modeling jobs in 1996 before she received legal authorization to work in the United States. She has not provided details about how she proved to the U.S. government that she qualified to receive a green card for her “extraordinary ability,” a category generally reserved for highly accomplished people such as Nobel Prize winners. So the question is what "exceptional ability" did she use to get the green card? She was not a super model. She had never been seen in any magazine until after meeting Trump. After their daughter moved to the US, the Knavses joined her, living on and off with the Trumps. As of December 2007, Viktor Knavs was using Mar-a-Lago as his address and had a Florida-based Mercedes-Benz registered in his name, according to public records. They are not the only family members to join Melania from Slovenia: Her older sister, Ines, lives in an apartment in a Trump-owned building on Park Avenue in New York, public records show.

Trump said that he was going to produce the papers that proves or shows that Melania is legal but he has never done so. Melania never did have that so-called "press conference", as Trump promised. The real issue is that it is well documented according to some that Melania worked without authorization while on a tourist visa or the visa waiver, and then probably failed to disclose this when she applied for an H-1 visa. This is visa fraud. Many people end up permanently barred from the USA based on exactly this sort of misstatement. The hypocrisy of denouncing "criminal aliens" while ignoring the documented perjury of the first lady is galling. According to Trump and his plan for family unification, Melania's parents wouldn't qualify -- not even by "the book".

So this is how the “chain migration” works? Maybe the thought of Melania sponsoring more of her relatives to come to the U.S. is the reason why Donald is ending " chain migration"?

Trump's Rule of Law: One rule for the Trumps and another rule for the rest of the world. Apparently it's do as I say, not as I do.

Obama's Pro-Immigrant Stance: A Hypocrisy

Obama: The POT calling the KETTLE black? Perhaps, you need to look at yourself in the mirror first before you point fingers.

She was fighting for the poor farmers then. Now she terrorized & extorted money from them. Another misguided state university student gone astray.
