Mishmash

I think I just watched the worst movie of the year: Higher Power. If you're reading this, I'm doing you a favor by saying that.

I also saw "Avengers: Infinity War". Guess how many super-heroes died in this movie. In this movie, half the population of the universe disintegrated. Hopefully the Infinity the Time Stone will bring them all back. If you're interested on: A Complete List of Who Lives and Dies in Avengers: Infinity War http://time.com/5252990/avengers-infinity-war-deaths/

My favorite TV series, other than "Game of Thrones", currently are: 1. Bull

2. Into the Badlands

3. Goliath (this is a legal drama in case you're wondering)

4. Riverdale

5. Star Trek Discovery

6. Pure Genius (medicine-meets-high-tech medical drama)

7. Dynasty (yeah, I know)

Three of my fave TV series ended:

1. Banshee

2. Grimm

3. From Dusk Till Dawn

I'm hoping other networks would pick them up.

Here is a theater tip you can keep in mind: The seats in Theater 1 of UP Town Center are all push-button recliner seats (think La-Z-Boy). The sound system there is superb -- I think it is equipped with Dolby Atmos, a surround sound system. Each seat is provided with soda pop holder & a small retractable table. There is also another theater there that's 4DX, similar to the one in Central Square in Bonifacio High Street Cinemas (BGC). What exactly is 4DX? That means the seats move with the ongoing action on the big screen to make the viewers experience what's happening in the movie. You may be sprayed on or misted by water or you might smell strange smells, and feel the wind blowing on your face. You can thank the South Koreans for this technology or invention (do you know they also created the first internet cafe, the first tablet, & the first cancer-fighting nanobot? There are currently about 20,000 cybercafes in S. Korea now, a good reason for North Koreans to talk to their southern brothers...and you thought it was becoz of Trump).

There’s a family feud going on among the Tulfos over the Department of Tourism’s controversial P60-million deal with PTV-4. Resigned Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo is sister to the Tulfo brothers. Mon Tulfo, the eldest in the family, pinned the blame about the deal on Ben Tulfo. Mon said Wanda’s only fault was her failure to get “intelligent people” as her staff.

“She was clueless that Ben would get the lion’s share, so to speak, of the P60-million advertising contract,” he said.

Mon said he tried to convince Ben to admit his fault in the controversy to no avail. He said his younger brother was adamant that he did nothing wrong since the DOT’s contract was not with his company, Bitag Media Unlimited Inc. Mon said that Ben is the "black sheep of the family." (ME: Ouch!)

“F**k you! Don’t treat me like a child,” Mon quoted Ben.

(ME: Them are fighting words.)

Mon supports Duterte for firing Wanda Teo. Mon is also a Duterte supporter.

Atty. Topacio is the legal counsel of Wanda Teo. Mon should really refrain from insulting his siblings and airing their family's dirty laundry in public. These actions do not resolve anything.

Uy, may sikreto!

From Twitter-verse:

Ito ba yung sinasabi ni ex-CJ Sereno (actually she wasn't even an ex-CJ strictly speaking in light of what the 9 magistrates of the Supreme Court did to her on her quo warranto case) kanina sa TV interview ni Karen Davila na she is feels or is concerned for the poor? Or was it all just all talk or hot air? Even the farmers in Hacienda Luisita accused Sereno of selling out to PN0y. So much for her pro-poor stance. Poor people really don't see or feel it.

I have a feeling Lourdes Sereno, if she gets dumped by the other Supreme Court judges today in connection with her quo warranto case, and Kris Aquino will run for senators in the next election under the LP banner of course. There are also speculations that Ping Lacson will be LP's presidential candidate in the next presidential election. Just a friendly advice, candidates, kung tatakbo kayo: wear comfortable running shoes.

Saw these on Twitter:

Is he researching on the Liberal Party's next move?

MY LAST WORDS:

So...did you vote early and vote often? Just joshin'!

My condolence and deepest sympathy to Sen. Sonny Angara's family on the passing of his dad, ex-Senator Edgardo Angara. Senator Edgardo Angara has served the Philippines in several administrations and in various capacities, the last of which was as Special Envoy to the European Union under the Duterte administration. I read some readers' comments in a news article on Angara's death in Manila Bulletin's website and pretty much the readers gave very negative comments about Ed Angara. Many said he was a trapo. Some hinted that he had an illicit relationship with Loren Legarda and that his family was involved in landgrabbing in his hometown or province. Regardless of what people thought of him, he did create so many laws that millions of Filipinos are now benefiting from. The landmark laws that Angara had authored were:

1. The Health Insurance Act or the Philhealth

2. The Senior Citizen’s Act

3. The Agricultural Fisheries Modernization Act

4. The Procurement Reform Act

5. The Renewable Energy Act

6. The Commission on Higher Education

7. The TESDA law

8. The Magna Carta for Public Health Workers

9. The National Museum Act of 1998

10. The NCCA

11. The Natatanging Manlilikha Award

12. The Ombudsman Law

13. The National Heritage Law

14. The establishment of the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone Freeport Authority

Personally, I am impressed at these laws that he authored. The senior citizen's law, Tesda, and Philhealth laws alone were remarkable and brilliant enough that are helping millions of poor people everyday to get jobs, get discounts, and provide funds for healthcare. Yung mga nanglait sa kanya, kayo po ba, ano ang mga nagawa nyo sa bayan? Si PN0y ilang importanteng batas ang nagawa niya? Who are you to judge. Only God can judge him now.

I also like to extend my condolence to the family of 8-term ex-congressman Roquito Ablan who died last Holy Week this year at 85. We went to his wake in Laoag at the Ablan's ancestral home during our Holy Week vacation there. Lots of people were at the wake. His daughter entertained us.

Before I end this post, I'd like you all to kiss your mom and make today her day. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY, everyone! I miss you mom.
